Uploading Your Industrial Business Videos on YouTube

Industrial business videosNow that you have your own YouTube Channel, it is time to upload your first video.

How to Upload Your Own Videos

If you’re new to YouTube and not very tech-friendly, it may seem daunting. But don’t worry, it’s not. Here’s what you need to do to upload your own videos to YouTube and start getting followers:

  1. Make sure your video is on your computer

If you recorded your video using your phone or a video camera, you’ll want to plug your device into your computer and upload it to your computer. You may want to use video editing software to make adjustments to your video before uploading it. There are plenty of free editing programs you can download. Some video cameras also have their own editing software included. (Tip: HD videos are best. Your videos should have dimensions that are either 1920×1080 or 1280×720 for the best picture.)

  1. Choose your file

Once you’re logged in, select the upload arrow button on the top right corner of the page. This will take you to the upload page where you’ll be able to select your video file from your computer.

  1. Choose your privacy settings

It’s important to set your privacy settings so that your videos will only be available to the people you select. Here’s what they mean:

  • Public – Anyone can see your video and it can appear in the “suggested videos” section.
  • Unlisted – Only the people you send a link to will be able to see the video. If someone finds your channel and does not have a link to your video, they will not be able to see it. It will not appear in YouTube’s search results.
  • Private – Only you can see these videos and any users you select.
  • Scheduled – This allows you to upload the video to YouTube but select a date and time in the future for it to become available for view. If you’re doing a video campaign or series, this is a good option.

Once you choose your privacy, click the big arrow and select the video you want to upload from your files. You can also drag and drop it. Once you select your file and click “upload,” you’ll be able to see the progress on the status bar.

  1. Title, Descriptions, and Tags

Now that your video is upload, you need to make sure it’s seen. Your title is the most important piece of information you need to create. Make sure your title is relevant to your video and uses keywords that people are searching for. Make sure it’s clear and specific. Vague titles and descriptions will not bring many viewers.

Include keywords in your description and tags as well. This will help your video rank higher in search results. Again, be clear and specific. This will help YouTube rank your video better and bring more views.

  1. Thumbnail

Lastly, YouTube will offer the choice of three different thumbnail images. Select the one you like the best, it will be the photo that shows your video in previews. You can also create your own thumbnail image by clicking “custom thumbnail” if you don’t like the ones you’re offered.

That’s it! Your video is now uploaded and ready to view. You can go to your YouTube page to find your video’s page and copy the URL so that you can share it on social media.
