Are you good at catching curve balls? I’m a big Houston Astros fan and just like in baseball, sometimes in business, someone throws you a curve ball.
Things will be going just wonderful and out of nowhere, this curve ball comes flying at your business. The question is, do you catch the ball or does it throw your whole business into a tailspin?
Curve balls cause a disruption and the key is to maintain business operations and your people, assets, and brand while dealing with it.
If your business is resilient, it can catch that curve ball and keep going.
Resilience refers to the ability to withstand disruptive shocks, manage complexity and recover from tough times. We have all known businesses who handled the curve ball with ease. Some even hit the ball out of the park! There are others who simply gave up when someone pitched a curve ball to them.
It isn’t just about business either. What about your personal life. Are you resilient? So many of us don’t take care of our bodies. We don’t give our body and mind enough time to recover from the curve balls of life and it hurts our resiliency.
