Getting Started on Instagram for Your Industrial Business
We are talking about getting started on Instagram. In our last post, we told you why you should be using it. Perhaps you’ve been thinking about using Instagram for your industrial business, maybe you already have a personal account, but now what? How do you start? How do you create your account? And most importantly, what do you do with it?
Getting started is not as hard as you may think. First, and most importantly, you need to know that you can only set up your account and add content through the app, not the website. With the website, you can only view your newsfeed and “like” other posts, that’s it.
If you don’t already have the app on your mobile device, download it now. You can use it on any cellphone, tablet, or most eReaders.
Open your account by creating a user name and password. Your username is also your profile name so choose appropriately. Use your business name or some variation of it. If you already have a personal account, you can simply add a business account without setting up a new login. Go to your profile, click the down arrow next to your profile name and select “add account.”
Enter your profile info. You’ll use this to add your business name, your username, a link to your website, and a short bio. You’ll also select a “category” for your business and add a photo. Use a photo that is recognizable to your business such as your logo or mascot. All of this is done under the “edit profile” button on your new account.
That’s it! You now have an Instagram business account and you are ready to begin using it. I told you getting started on Instagram was easy. You’re now ready to start growing your followers!
