Call To Action

Changing the conversation more than one audience at a time.

Need to create a list of Call to Action ideas for your website?

First, what is a Call to Action: A call-to-action is an image or line of text that prompts your web visitors to action? It is, quite literally, a “call” to take an “action.”

Your call to action could be anything from request a quote, sign up for our newsletter, attend a webinar, download a tip sheet, click to call, buy now, Share, Like, etc.

So why use them? Because you want to tap into the reader’s emotion and get them to complete some action. And when you do, you need to focus your Call to Action on what it will bring you customer, not on your product. You need to create a need in them, a reason why they need to pursue your product, or how pursuing your product will help THEM.

So what are the best practices for Call to Actions:

  • Make it visually appealing
  • Make it brief, five words at most
  • Have an action, begin with a verb that tells your customer what to do
  • Locate it in an easy-to-find spot that follows the flow of your webpage
  • Make it stand out from the rest of your webpage
  • Make it large enough to be seen from a distance but not large to the point of distraction
  • Make it easy to understand and clear.

Call to Actions don’t need to be very complicated. They only need to tell your visitors what to do.
