How do you keep people interested and coming back to your blog? I have a few tips to share.
1. Post Consistently
If you post on a consistent basis, your readers will keep coming back to see what is new. Post haphazardly or infrequently and your readers will get tired of seeing the same info and think you are not serious about your topic.
2. Know Your Audience
Zero in on your target market and what they like. Know what they want to see more of on your blog and deliver to them. You can’t target everyone, so narrow your focus and know your audience.
3. Keep It Short
Most readers do not have time to read a long 1,000+ word post. But they will read a shorter post. 300 to 500 words are usually enough to get your point across.
4. Make It Easy To Read
No one wants to read a lot of text bunched together. Break it up. Include white space, headings and keep the sentences and paragraphs short. Use simple language that is easy to understand.
5. Include an Interesting Graphic
Pictures speak volumes. A great picture will grab the attention and pull the reader into your post. Researchers suggest that we only remember 10% of what we read if it does not include a picture. But we remember 65% of what we read if it includes a related picture. That is a big difference. You want the reader to remember what you have to say, so include a picture
