Today, March 8, 2018, is International Women’s Day. At Upstream Marketing, we work with many women-owned businesses. The women-owned businesses who are our clients serve many different industries. Some examples: Technical Writing, Waste Removal, Medical, Law, Graphic Design, Public Relations, Engineering, Fabrication, Communications and more. These businesses have an impact both on the local and international communities.
Today is an important reminder that all of us in whatever business we own, work for, or support can and must do so much more to promote fairness and equality.
A female business owner I honor is Evalyn Shea with Shea Writing & Training Solutions. Her website is one that UpStream Marketing designed. I enjoyed working with her and learning about her company and the services she provides to industrial and manufacturing clients.
With more than 20 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, Evalyn Shea has built Shea Writing and Training Solutions into the leading provider of technical writing support in Houston.
After establishing Shea Writing and Training Solutions in 1997, Evalyn developed relationships with major oil and gas producers and service providers. Her talent and experience helped her provide writing support for the Macondo report.
Her active participation and leadership roles across various boards and associations demonstrate her belief in community. Under Evalyn’s leadership, Shea Writing and Training Solutions, has expanded into the software, manufacturing, and government sectors. The business continues to grow.
Evalyn holds a B.A. in History and Political Science from the University of New Hampshire.
