We stuffed ourselves on Thanksgiving, shopped till we dropped on Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, and Cyber Monday, and now here we are at Giving Tuesday. A global giving movement, Giving Tuesday is fueled by the power of social media and collaboration.
#GivingTuesday kicks off the charitable season when many focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving.
There are lots of ways you can get involved. One way is using the hashtag #GivingTuesday on social media. Send a tweet or post on Instagram a picture of you or others giving.
One of the best ways to get involved is in your own community. Donate your time, a donation, gift or the power of your voice in your local community. You can get involved alone, with your family, a group or as a company. Find a way to give back and then share it with the world. I enjoy giving back. Here at UpStream Marketing, we helped a non-profit group, Operation Finally Home get started with their first website and watched them grow into a nationally recognized non-profit for returning veterans. They were named a finalist on CNN Heroes.
I’m also involved in the Katy Christain Ministries of which I co-chair the communications committee.
I’m offering my ebook for 99 Cents as a way to help non-profits get a good start to preparing their website for 2019.
Everyone can find a way to give, even if you have no extra money. Your time is equally needed. There are so many organizations in the area that need a helping hand.
