Facebook Groups!  Why You Should Create One!

Creating a Facebook group is just as easy as creating a page.

Creating a Facebook Group:

  1. Just like you created the page, select “create group” from that same dropdown list in the top left corner of your home page.

Create Group

  1. You’ll then be asked to name your group and invite at least one friend, either by email or Facebook name. You will also determine whether your group is open (any can join) or closed (invite only)

  1. You can then choose a unique group icon, like a coffee cup for your coffee shop.

Choose Icon

  1. You’ll then be redirected to your group page where you can add a photo, invite more people, edit the description, and more. If it’s open, share the group with your friends to encourage them to join!

Accessing Groups:

Once you’ve created your  group, there are several ways through which you can access them later. You can find them in multiple places on your home page:

or you can find them in that same drop-down list that you used to create them:

Even if you’ve never created a page or group before, Facebook pretty much walks you through the process. However, if you need a refresher, or to learn more about the features of Facebook and other social media platforms, come back!
