Promoting a business is hard, but with the help of social media, you and your business can easily thrive. Facebook is one of the best platforms for promoting people and businesses because of its feature that allows you to create a specific page for that business, product, or service.
While promoting with your personal profile is good, you get a lot of extra benefits when you create a page! A page provides you with insights, statistics about your followers. You can see their demographics, what time of day they are on facebook, etc. If in the future you want to run ads on facebook, you can target them to the demographics of your page. So if you have a business, you need a page.
Creating a Facebook Page:
Once you click “create a page” you’ll be redirected to a page that allows you to choose the type of page you wish to create. Is it for a product? A person? A local business?
Head to the Facebook home page/news feed. In the top right corner, you’ll see an arrow that opens a dropdown list. In this list, you’ll see settings, support, news feed preferences, and an option to create a page.
Next, you can choose an even more specific category. Say you want to make a page for a coffee shop you’re opening. You would choose the “restaurant/café” option.
Now you can start setting up your page. Tell people what your business is all about, add a picture, set a preferred audience, etc. You can skip these steps and complete them later if you wish.
Click “skip” or “save info” to see your page in action and finalize the details. Don’t forget to add business hours and a phone number!
Invite your friends and family to “like” your page and to share the link with their friends. This is how you achieve the marketing snowball effect.
Now that you have a business page, be sure to post about your customers’ successes, tips on how to use products, sales, specials, and the like. You want a mix of content and not just sell, sell, sell. Your main goal is to build relationships!
